Barça B 2-1 Olot: Gritty victory

An important win for Barça B at the Estadi Johan Cruyff with the three points allowing the blaugranes to remain amongst the leaders in the table. Opponents Olot did not make it easy and Garcia Pimienta's team had to work hard to earn the victory that leaves them in third place in their grouo in the Second Division B, four points behind leaders Nàstic de Tarragona. 

Not a great start 

Barça B did not get off to the best of starts in the Estadi with Olot hitting the post early on through Xumentra and then losing Sergi Rosanas to injury just as he was making his long awaited comeback from a long term lay off. 

Little by little Barça regained control of the contest and after having missed early chances to take the lead Jandro finally put them ahead on 28 minutes with a great free kick. 

End to end 

The game was an open one with chances at both ends and Olot were back on level terms when Juan Delgado headed in after 33 minutes. However, right at the end of the first half a corner from Collado was turned into his own net by Pedro and Barça were back in front. 

Garcia Pimienta's team had to work hard in the second half to maintain their advantage. Olot's Killian went close to bringing the visitors back into the game just after the hour mark. 

Barça could have sewn the game up but Nils Mortimer wasted a chance presented to him by Collado and then Jandro hit the post. In the final minutes the blaugranes defender stoutly and their efforts were rewarded at the final whistle with three valuable points.
